(3.15.2005) Maye wins Nationals in the 200 and 400 meters. Sets American Record.

Sean Maye set an American record in the M35 division of the 200m finals. The 35-year-old Maye ran 22.02 seconds to better the 22.04 set in 1998 by Mitchell Lovett of New York. Runner-up finisher, Robert Thomas of Indianapolis, Ind., (M35-22.44) claimed the second fastest time out of all age groups in the 200m.

The M35 age group division in the 400m provided some sparks as Sean Maye came from behind to beat Robert Thomas of Indianapolis, Ind., in 49.11 seconds. The 38-year-old Thomas finished second in 49.31.

(4.27.2004) Sean will run at the Wells Fargo BYU Invitational (May 1st) on the 4x100 relay and the 4x400 Alumni Relay teams.

(4.24.2004) Sean won his heat at Friday preliminaries (Robinson Invitational) with a time of 21.60. "Not bad for my first race of the year. I felt really good throughout the race, but wasn't able to run in the finals because of coaching duties at the Davis Invite."

Prep Track: In a car or on foot, Alta's Hutson likes to be in the fast lane

Alta track star Dan Hutson was getting tired of watching coach Sean Maye with his Wile E. Coyote tattoo outpace him during practice last fall.

Naturally, then, the best way for Hutson to get even was to get a Road Runner tattoo shortly after his 18th birthday. And while Hutson's right-shoulder decoration is primarily an inside joke between himself and his coach, it also symbolizes his performance on the track and reflects his passions.

"I just love speed," Hutson said. "I love things that go fast: fast cars, fast people."
